What is your definition of the perfect layout boat? If you could design the perfect boat how would you do it and what features would you incorperate?

I would be interested in towability in a two man boat. The bulk of most two man boats makes them difficult to fit on a tender under 20'

Billy if bulk was not an issue how important is towing? We feel our new 2 man model will be perfect for both but as always towing is stil not the best option. Always a risk. However we understand completely what your looking for and trust me were trying really hard to make it happen. Theres just some places to cut corners and some you just simply cannot to create a capacity rating that is safe for 2 hunters.
Heck Im sure we could build a awesome 2 man layout that would hold 2 gunners however the capacity rating would be around 400lbs and thats just not a safe rating for a 2 man boat. Most hunters with gear will easily exceed that number and that spells danger. We never risk our customers safety by allowing them to buy a boat we know they will be exceeding the capacity of. And exactly why the new 2 man boat should be over 600lbs capacity.

Thanks for sticking around and please pass the word about the forum. Its nice to talk layouts and ideas from future customers is exactly what we are looking for. With your help and thoughts we can provide the best and safest layout on the market.

I'm new to this layout boat gig, but have built several boats in the past. I'm going to build your two-man version in April with my girlfriend Carolyn, and if I have any thoughts on the matter I will shoot you a message on here or send you a pm......thanks for the hard work!

What is the issue with towing? Swamping it on a wave?

Yes swamping the boats is a huge concern. They are for the most part not designed to cut waves and ride high so swamping is a serious concern. Also the tend to like to take flight if towed to fast. There is an answer though. Stay tuned.

I think that a cockpit cover would be a nice optional asessory since most udck boats are stored outside especially during the season
